West End credits include The Mikado, Hello, Dolly! with Danny La Rue and the RSC/Opera North production of Show Boat at the London Palladium with the part of ‘Rubber Face’. On tour he has performed in various pantomimes, also The Black and White Minstrels, No No Nannette with Nicole Gordon, Og in Finian’s Rainbow, Barnaby in Hello, Dolly! Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus and the lead tenor in The Song of Summer at the ICA.
Alan has sung in the Earl’s Court production of Carmen, which toured Japan, in Tosca and in Aida in Birmingham. He danced in the film Absolute Beginners. His TV credits include Crossroads, General Hospital, Jennie, Omnibus and Pebble Mill at One.
He has directed and choreographed highly acclaimed productions of The Yeomen of the Guard, The Gondoliers, The Mikado, The Pirates of Penzance, The Sorcerer, HMS Pinafore and Patience for the professional Festival Opera Company at Buxton. He has also worked extensively with societies in Bath, Plymouth and Yeovil, to name but a few.
Having studied singing and dancing, Alan formed his own dance and cabaret group touring the British Isles. He has performed with the Welsh National Opera and the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company with whom he sang, choreographed and directed various Gilbert & Sullivan productions.
