 Main Show

Our Main Show for last year was back in October.

The reviews were great and you can read them here:

SceneOne Magazine

Fine Times Recorder

We have also received a large number of comments and emails from those who came along and some of them are shown below

Our Director was Claire Camble-Hutchins who has now created two brilliant shows for us - Pirates of Penzance in 2014 and Ruddigore.  The music too was once again under the control of our own Musical Director, Kezziah Jacombs who has done so much to maintain the high standards of our Society.

If you came along to one of the shows, we do hope you enjoyed it and we would be delighted to hear any of your comments both good and bad!!  The only way we can get things even better is if people let us know how they feel.  Please click the button below and send us your thoughts.

This year our main show is going to be

The Mikado

Our Director will again be
Claire Camble-Hutchins

who has created two brilliant shows for us - Pirates of Penzance in 2014 and Ruddigore last year.

The music will once again be under the control of our own Musical Director, Kezziah Jacombs who has done so much to maintain the high standards of our Society.

Probably the best known and loved of the G&S operas and the one that gave us the much used saying "make the punishment fit the crime“! Featuring some of Gilbert and Sullivan's best known songs, including Three Little Maids, I've got a Little List, Tit Willow, Let the Punishment Fit the Crime, and many more.

Let us transport you back to Imperial Japan and the intrigues of Koko, the Lord High Executioner and Pooh Bah, Lord High Everything Else, for a love story with a happy ending.

Tickets for all performances are £18.50

Please note about the Saturday Matinee performance:-

The performance at 2.30 on Saturday 19th will be captioned. All dialogue and musical numbers will appear on screens (approximately 1 m wide by ½ m tall), positioned either side of the proscenium arch and most people, having attended a captioned performance, say that they find them unobtrusive. As well as being a wonderful bonus for anybody who is hard of hearing, everyone will pick up on the wonderful detail in Gilbert's famous patter songs and we hope that this latest innovation will be popular with our audiences

Some of the many comments and emails that we have received:

“Thoroughly enjoyed last night's performance - well done to everyone.  The stage set was amazing.  Took friends who are new to G&S and they thoroughly enjoyed it too.”

“Another G & S triumph! Thank you for a wonderful show last night. It was outstanding. Everyone acted their parts continually, as usual, no matter where the main attention was. The singing was great - young and 'old' !!    Some amazing comical scenes. Our daughter and her son (18) both thoroughly enjoyed it.”

“Just to say that I thought yesterday's matinee performance was superb.  Such fun.”

“I had to mail you to express how much my husband and I enjoyed the show.  It was truly excellent.  The scenery, costumes, acting and singing were all first class, the voices of the solo singers were breathtaking for so called amateurs. When the trio sang ‘My eyes are fully open’ we were stunned, how did they do it!  Also that young girl performing spectacular ballet movements.”

“We have seen about 6 of your presentations and to us this was by far the funniest.  Not sure this is due to the original script or the acting but it was very, very funny.”

“Thank you for an absolutely outstanding production of Ruddigore. I have no doubt the plaudits are still ringing in your ears! It was brilliant!!”

“Please pass on our thanks and congratulations to your team for such a stunning performance.”

"What a great show! Congratulations! The singing was great, costumes, scenery, acting, lighting, band, etc. - all very professional!"

“That was fabulous! I have always enjoyed G&S but I think last night's show was the best I have ever had the pleasure of watching.  Well done.”
