The best of G&S in the South

Main Show

The main show for last year was
One of the favourite G&S operas for many people, The Yeomen of the Guard is full of wonderful music and a great story of wrongful imprisonment in the Tower of London with subsequent escape, subterfuge and romance.

This was a superb show directed by one of our long standing professional directors Roberta Morrell, who has directed 7 of our past shows, joined by an excellent new Musical Director Keziah Jacombs.

A delightful tale, full of comedy and romance, twists and surprises, has made this lively operetta one of most popular ever written by WS Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan.
Take a ship loaded with pirates landing on the Cornish coast and young Frederic who is apprenticed to them until his 21st birthday. Add into the plot his nursemaid Ruth, a bevy of beautiful girls who are enjoying an outing to the beach, a thoroughly modern Major General, the inept local constabulary and a Pirate King with a soft spot for orphans and you have the right mix for a great show!

With sparkling songs, love and laughter, The Pirates of Penzance is really not to be missed.
